Drawing from our vast experience with aluminum frames and stainless steel cable, rods and fittings, we've developed two simple and attractive vertical trellises for residential and commercial settings: the wall mounted Somerset® trellis and freestanding Greenway® trellis.

Sold in easy to use kits with powder coated aluminum support frames and sleek stainless steel cable and rod vine grids, these trellises offer simple, elegant design details with exceptional versatility and easy installation. Use them to help minimize UV exposure on walls, control ambient heat gain, expand a garden space vertically, frame a lovely view or create a shaded partition. The Wall Mounted Somerset® Trellis.

This trellis is designed for mounting on vertical surfaces. It's an all inclusive trellis kit that's available in seven standard height packages (from 4 ft to 10 ft; 1 ft increments). It consists of powder coated aluminum angle brackets top and bottom that screw or bolt to the wall face Four 1/8" diameter stainless steel cable assemblies are strung vertically between the brackets and secured with special, easy to use, adjustable QuickConnect-SS™ and Threaded Terminal cable fittings. The 1/8" diameter stainless steel rods are then attached to the cables horizontally using special Cross-Clamps with locking set screws.

The rods can be positioned anywhere along the cables, but the spacing that we show and use in our standard package configurations are at one foot increments. Additional rods and clamps can be purchased as accessory items. Multiple trellis kits can be mounted adjacent to one another to make wider wall trellises.

The angle brackets on the Somerset® trellis come in a black matte, powder coated finish. The cables and rods are manufactured from high grade, type 316 stainless steel for weather-tough strength and durability. Cross-clamps are available in either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel and come with black plastic end caps to cover the set screw, Stainless end caps are also available as an optional accessory item.

Each Somerset® Trellis kit includes the following:

• 2 qty 40” long, aluminum angle brackets with black matte, powder coated finish.
• 4 qty 1/8” diameter stainless steel cable assemblies with adjustable attachment fittings and black plastic end caps.
• 3 to 9 qty 1/8” diameter x 38-1/4” long stainless steel rods (quantity depends on trellis height).
• 4 qty cross-clamps per rod, with black plastic caps (choose either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel cross-clamps).

The Free Standing Greenway® Trellis.

This freestanding, one size, trellis panel kit is made from 1-1/2" diameter powder coated aluminum tubing. The pre-cut tubing sections easily sleeve together and are secured with locking screws. The legs can either be set in compacted gravel or concrete footings, or they can be trimmed and fitted with optional surface mount base plates. Four prefabricated 1/8" diameter stainless steel cables with adjustable threaded end fittings are strung vertically on the frame, and they support four 1/8" diameter stainless steel rods that are attached horizontally using Cross-clamps with locking set screws.

The rods may be positioned anywhere along the cables, but the spacing that we show and recommend is 11-1/4 inch centers. Additional rods and clamps can be purchased as accessory items. Multiple trellis kits can be combined in a variety of ways to create any effect you desire.

The tubular frames on the Greenway® trellis come in a black matte, powder coated finish. The cables and rods are manufactured from high grade, type 316 stainless steel for weather-tough strength and durability. Cross-clamps are available in either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel and come with black plastic end caps to cover the set screw. Stainless end caps are also available as an optional accessory item.

Each Greenway® trellis kit includes the following:

• 1 qty 1-1/2” diameter tubular aluminum frame with black matte, powder coated finish. Frame comes in 4 sections that slip together with splice sleeves and locking screws (included). Installed dimensions are 6’ high x 43” wide.
• 4 qty 1/8” diameter stainless steel cable assemblies (prefabricated to exact length) with attachment fittings and black plastic end caps.
• 4 qty 1/8” diameter x 38-1/4” long stainless steel rods.
• 16 qty cross-clamps with black plastic caps (choose either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel cross-clamps)
• 1 qty 3/16” hex key wrench (for cross-clamp set screws).

CableTrellis Systems Care & Maintenance.

• Clean stainless regularly with soap and warm water. Never clean with mineral acids or bleaches.
• Never leave stainless in contact with iron, steel or other metals. This can cause rust spots or corrosion.
• Always remove stains or rust spots as soon as possible with either soap and water or a brass, silver, stainless or chrome cleaner.
• Never use coarse abrasives like sandpaper or steel wool on stainless. Use synthetic Scotch pads instead.
• Periodically inspect cable assemblies for proper tension and re-tension as necessary. This is important.
• Use the color matched spray paint (included with each order) to touch-up any scratches on the frame. Be sure the surface being painted is clean and dry. Always follow the painting instructions on the can.
• As necessary, clean the trellis frame with mild soap and water using a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Be sure to wipe-up any bird droppings or sap drips as soon as possible to avoid possible staining or discoloration. Never use steel wool, sand paper, acid, bleach or other abrasive or caustic materials on your trellis as they may cause permanent damage to the finish.
• Periodically clean the stainless steel infill cables with mild soap and water using a synthetic Scotch type pad. Any cleaner safe for glass is usually safe for stainless; never use mineral acids or bleaches. Do not leave stainless in contact with iron, steel or other metals as this may cause staining or corrosion, and if stain spots do appear, be sure to clean them right away.
• Periodically check to see that all components and screw connections are tight and secure and re-tighten as needed.

2 Year Limited Warranty - CableTrellis Kits

Feeney Inc. (Feeney) warrants that all CableTrellis trellis kits (aluminum support frame and stainless steel cables, rods and connectors) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use, conditions, installation and maintenance in accordance with product specifications for two (2) years from date of purchase. This applies to the products provided by Feeney only.

How to Order CableTrellis Kits

1. Carefully Review: Read the product pages (Somerset® and Greenway®) and installation instruction.
2. Select Trellis Style: Select the Greenway® trellis for freestanding situations or the Somerset® trellis for wall-mounted applications.
3. Select Cross-Clamp Type: Choose either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel cross-clamps when choosing your trellis system.
4. Determine Size (Somerset® Only): The Somerset® trellis offers seven height options. Our kits range from 4 ft to 10 ft; in 1 ft increments. Measure the area you would like covered vertically and order the nearest larger size package. You can trim cables to exact size in the field.
5. Determine Quantities: Select the quantity of trellises needed. Multiple units can be combined to cover larger wall areas or expand a freestanding display.
6. Choose Accessories & Tools: Start by determining which bolts or screws you'll need to attach your brackets or frames to the wall or deck/patio surface. And, remember, if you want to surface mount the Greenway® trellis you'll need to order one Base Plate Kit for each trellis. If you'd like a different rod/cable spacing than we recommend, we sell rod & cross-clamp packages so you can add to your system. Stainless steel caps are another option to customize your trellis system; we offer three cap profiles. Cable Cutters are available for trimming the cables on the Somerset® trellis system.
